Barangay Health Workers to Receive More Benefits Under New House Bill

Magna Carta for Barangay Health Workers Passes 2nd Reading

Barangay health workers provided invaluable service to their constituents during the COVID-19 pandemic, which the House of Representatives seeks to recognize.

House Bill 6557 seeks to provide allowances and other benefits such as insurance coverage, vacation, and maternity leaves, among others to accredited Barangay health workers.

Other benefits include:

  • Receiving continuous training from the DOH
  • Being able to cite grievances of discrimination and unjust removal to the Department of the Interior and Local Government
  • Receiving a monthly honoraria of not less than PHP3,000
